⊱⋆⊰ Anni Rapo: Vessels

Sytytetyn liekin lämmin valo, pysähtynyt paksu ilma, rituaalin hidas rytmi, ajan ja toiston kerrostumat. Mitä kaikkea esineet ovat nähneet, millaisia unohdettuja muistoja ne kantavat? Kaikki niille annetut merkitykset kasautuneina toistensa päälle sulavat yhteen, muodostaen säiliön, jossa mennyt ja tuleva menettävät merkityksensä. Esineiden loputtomat tarinat kulkevat omistajalta toiselle, luoden jatkumon, jossa kaikki on yhtä.

Anni Rapo (s. 1991) on helsinkiläistynyt monitaiteilija sekä Lahden Muotoiluinstituutista vuonna 2016 valmistunut muotoilija. Hänelle materiaalilähtöisyys on suurin inspiraation lähde, joka pääsääntöisesti ohjaa prosesseja. Raskaat ja kestävät materiaalit, kuten keramiikka ja metalli yhdistettynä lasiin sekä purkautuvaan tekstiiliin, ovat hänelle tapa tutkia pysyvän ja hetkellisen välisiä jännitteitä. Hitaat, perinteiset käsityöläismenetelmät pakottavat pysähtymään, ajattelemaan, tuntemaan. Annia kiehtoo varsinkin hetki, kun teos siirtyy omistajalta toiselle, silloin kun teos alkaa kerätä itseensä uusia merkityksiä ja muistojälkiä.

⊱⋆⊰ Hanna Rinne: Entiteettejä – Olioita siltä väliltä

Sana entiteetti tarkoittaa itsenäistä olemassaolon yksikköä – jotakin olemassa olevaa
kokonaisuutta tai olomuotoa, joka voi olla fyysinen tai abstrakti.

Tässä teossarjassa entiteetit edustavat elämänmuotoja, jotka eivät taivu perinteisiin
kategorioihin: ne eivät ole kasveja, eläimiä eivätkä täysin bakteereitakaan. Ne ovat jotakin
niiden väliltä ja kaikkea niitä yhtä aikaa. Voit tunnistaa hahmoissa jotakin tuttua, kuten
marjan muodon, nilviäisen pinnan tai solun rakenteen, mutta et pysty nimeämään niitä
varmuudella.

Nämä oliot eivät ole vain passiivisia kohteita, vaan aktiivisia toimijoita, joilla on oma
historiansa, motiivinsa ja luonteensa. Ne suorittavat omia salaisia rituaalejaan: ne
kokoontuvat, epäröivät ja todistavat maailman tapahtumia. Teosten ytimessä on
hahmojen välinen vuorovaikutus ja katsoja saa hetkellisen näkymän entiteettien omaan
suljettuun maailmaan.

Hanna Rinnen taide ammentaa pop-surrealismista, scifistä ja luonnon oudoista ilmiöistä.
Työskentelyn ytimessä on visuaalinen tarinankerronta sekä leikki söpön ja kummallisen
rajapinnalla. Tervetuloa maailmaan, jossa biologia kohtaa mielikuvituksen, ja jossa
jokaisella oliolla on oma tarinansa kerrottavanaan.

⊱⋆⊰ Scott: RAW POWER

“Raw Power” is a confrontational exploration of tension, rebellion, and the uneasy relationship between authority and youth. Included in this collection are a series of large-scale pasteup installation pieces the artist has incorporated into his growing “Out On The Streets” series of works. The exhibition juxtaposes a military tank emblazoned with the subversive slogan “Make War Not Love,” the urgent motion of military police charging toward unrest, and a defiant group of punk youths who turn their gaze outward—challenging the viewer directly.

As a counterbalance to authority, Scott has chosen to illustrate several musical artists from the underground scene who gave voice to a disenfranchised youth seeking a way out of the chaos. These figures emerge not as distant icons, but as conduits of raw expression—channels through which frustration, alienation, and resistance are transformed into sound and the enduring power of dissent.

Rendered with the same urgency and grit as his street works, these portraits capture more than a likeness, they embody the energy of performance, the abrasion of noise, and the emotional charge of a culture built outside the mainstream. In amplifying these artists, Scott underscores how music becomes a form of protest and survival—a shared language that cuts through silence and asserts existence in the face of marginalization.

Scott Caris is an American artist known for his distinctive illustrative style, blending sharp linework with a bold, graphic sensibility. Working primarily in pen and ink, his pieces carry a raw immediacy that reflects his commitment to process and precision. From his deliciously merciless portraits of Donald Trump, famous musicians and celebrities, to others less known, Scott’s unique “Graphic Pop” artistic style is unmistakable. In recent years, his paste-up works have appeared across Europe, with installations on the streets of Copenhagen, London, Warsaw, and Helsinki, where they interact directly with the urban environment and everyday passersby.

Rooted in a hands-on, independent approach, Scott constructs his large-scale paste-ups from multiple sheets of paper, carefully assembled into striking, cohesive compositions. His work often explores character, identity, and cultural references through a lens that is both playful and incisive, resulting in imagery that is instantly recognizable yet layered with nuance.

He is currently working on his first hardcover book, a comprehensive collection that will document his street installations throughout Europe while offering a closer look at his original pen-and-ink drawings. The publication aims to bridge the gap between the ephemeral nature of street art and the permanence of print, providing deeper insight into both his creative process and evolving body of work.
