The Square on terävä satiiri nykytaiteesta, poliittisesta korrektiudesta, mediasta, neliöistä ja eläimellisyydestä meissä kaikissa. Elokuvan keskiössä on tukholmalaisen museon kuraattorin Christianin (Claes Bang) vastoinkäymiset, sekä kantaaottava teos “The Square”. Ruben Östlundin ohjaama musta komedia on voittanut mm. Cannesin festivaalin pääpalkinnon, Euroopan parhaan elokuvan palkinnon ja Oscar-ehdokkuuden.

The Square is a sharp satire on contemporary art, political correctness, the media, squares and the animality in all of us. At the center of the film is the misfortunes of Stockholm museum curator Christian (Claes Bang) and the ground-breaking artwork “The Square”. The black comedy directed by Ruben Östlund has won e.g. the main prize of the Cannes festival, the prize for the best European film and an Oscar nomination.
