Lumoavat levät -työpaja, varjoteatteria ja biologiaa.

Lumoavat levät -työpaja vertailee lämmöllä ja huumorilla ihmistä, vesikasvia ja levää. Työpaja kestää 75 min ja sopii nuorille ja aikuisille (K11).

Osallistujat tutustuvat levien ja vesikasvien rakenteeseen varjoteatterin avulla. Ryhmässä pohditaan levien haittoja ja hyödyllisiä ominaisuuksia. Osa levistä hohtaa pimeässä, tuottaa bioluminesensia. Tutustumme myös peilien ja heijastusten hyödyntämiseen varjoteatterissa.

Työpaja on osa vuonna 2024 Cirkon residenssissä aloitettua Vedenväki -työryhmän työskentelyä. Pajoja toteutettiin syksyllä -24 Tampereen kuudensille luokille yhteistyössä Taidekaaren ja Vapriikin luonnontieteellisen museon kanssa.

Työpajan ohjaaja ja ideoija: Tytti Marttila. Marttila valmistui Turun nukketeatteri koulutuksesta ja 2007 syventyi varjoteatteriin Italiassa 2016, Saksassa 2019 hän perehtyi erityisesti heijastusten käyttöön varjoteatterissa.

“The enchanting algae” workshop mixes art and biology with humor and tenderness. Using shadow theatre techniques it compares people, aquatic plants and algae. The workshop lasts 75 min.It is suitable for young people and adults (+11 years old).

With the help of shadow theater, participants will learn about the structure of algae and aquatic plants as well as reflect upon their beneficial and harmful properties. Some algae glow in the dark, producing bioluminescence. Participants will in turn learn about the use of mirrors and reflections in shadow theatre.

The workshop was born as part of the project “People of the waters” started in 2024 at Cirko’s residency. It took place in collaboration with Taidekaari and with the natural museum of Tampere.

The Workshop is created and led by Tytti Marttila, professional puppeteer established in Tampere. Marttila graduated from the Turku Puppetry School in 2007 and studied shadow theater in Italy in 2016, and in Germany in 2019.
